About StreamWID

A practical, open-source pause review tool for creators.

StreamWID helps people who record speech-heavy videos find pauses, review those moments with intent, and export cleaner edit decisions without handing the whole cut to automation.

What the project does

StreamWID is a free desktop utility for recorded streams, tutorials, podcasts, lectures, and similar creator workflows. It uses FFmpeg-based silence detection to identify likely pauses, then presents those sections for human review before exporting a cleaned video, pause clips, EDL markers, or CSV cut lists.

The goal is careful editing support: faster review, visible decisions, and export options that fit different post-production workflows.

Who it is for

The site and app are built for creators, streamers, educators, editors, and open-source users who want a transparent tool for reducing dead air in recordings. It is especially useful when a video still needs manual judgment around speech timing, context, and pacing.

How the site is funded

StreamWID may show advertising, accept sponsorships, and link to donation or download services. Advertising and analytics help measure interest in the project and support continued packaging, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
